Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to voluntary donations made to Smile Foundation Trust, a registered public charitable TRUST / NGO (Registration No. E/24550/AHD Gujarat) based in Ahmedabad. We are not a company selling products or commercial services. Contributions support orphanage care, education, elder support, women empowerment, calamity relief, medical assistance, and related charitable programmes in Gujarat.

No refunds on donations

Donations are generally non-refundable. Once a donation is successfully received and credited to Smile Foundation Trust, it is allocated toward our charitable objects and programme needs. We do not offer refunds on donations, including those made via UPI, cards, net-banking, wallets, or other payment-gateway methods, except in the limited situations described below.

Please verify the amount, purpose (if any), and your contact details before confirming payment. If you donate by mistake or enter an incorrect amount, contact us promptly using the details below; we will review the request in good faith, but approval of any reversal is not guaranteed and depends on payment-gateway rules, banking timelines, and whether funds have already been applied to programme work.

Limited exceptions

We may consider a refund or cancellation only where: (a) a technical error caused a duplicate charge for the same intended gift; (b) a payment was captured in error by the gateway after a failed confirmation; or (c) we are legally required to return funds. Any approved refund will be processed through the original payment channel where possible and may take the time specified by the bank or gateway.

Chargebacks initiated without contacting us first may delay resolution. We encourage donors to write to us so we can share transaction records and resolve genuine errors cooperatively.

80G certificates for eligible donations

Smile Foundation Trust provides 80G certificates for eligible donations in accordance with applicable Indian tax provisions and our registration status. Certificates are issued subject to verification of the donation, complete donor details (including PAN where required), and statutory rules in force at the time of the gift.

An 80G certificate is a tax document for eligible contributions; it is not a product receipt and does not create a right to a refund. Incomplete or inaccurate donor information may delay certificate issuance. For questions about eligibility or timelines, email us after your donation with the transaction reference and registered contact details.

Programme designation

If you designate a donation toward a specific cause (for example education or calamity relief), we make reasonable efforts to honour that preference. Where a designated need is already met or funds cannot be applied exactly as requested, we may use the contribution for closely related charitable work within our trust objects, consistent with donor intent and applicable law. Such reallocation does not entitle the donor to a refund.

Payment gateway failures

If your payment fails or is reversed by the gateway or bank before settlement to us, no donation is recorded and no refund from us is required. If money was deducted from your account but not confirmed to us, contact your bank or gateway first, then share the reference with us so we can check our settlement reports.

Policy updates

We may update this Refund Policy to reflect payment-partner requirements or legal changes. The version published on this page applies to donations made thereafter.
